- 1 kg chuck steak, fat removed & cut into bite sized pieces
- 2/3 cup uncooked brown rice
- 3 medium potatoes peeled & roughly diced into ~2 cm cubes
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock made from two heaped teaspoons of stock powder mixed in boiling water
- 1 small tin tomato paste
- 2 medium sized tomatoes diced or one punnet of cherry tomatoes added once the the slow cooker starts bubbling
- 1 medium brown onion diced
- 3 sticks of celery cut in ~1 cm wide pieces
- 1 large carrot cut in ~2 mm thick pieces
- 1 medium red capsicum roughly diced into ~2.5 cm x 1 cm pieces
- 1 large clove of garlic finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Method
- Add steak to slow cooker
- Add all other ingredients
- Cook on low for 8 hours or 3-4 hours on high, stirring occasionally after it starts bubbling
- Serve with green veggies
